1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Age of Aincrad website (age-of-aincrad.com) and any related services we operate, including the game client and game servers (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service is operated by the Age of Aincrad team. For legal or operational questions, use the contact form on the website.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to create an account. Parents or legal guardians are responsible for any account used by a minor.
3. Account creation and security
You agree to provide accurate information, keep your password confidential, and notify us promptly of any unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
We may register you via email/password, Discord, or Google. Whichever method you choose, the same account governs both website and in-game access.
4. Acceptable use
You will not:
- Use the Service to break the law or harm others.
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone — including players, staff, and bots.
- Cheat, exploit bugs, modify the client to gain advantage, or use unauthorised third-party software.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer beyond what local law expressly permits, or interfere with the Service's operation.
- Distribute spam, malware, or content that infringes third-party rights.
- Buy, sell, trade, or transfer accounts, characters, virtual currency, or items for real money or other goods outside the Service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Severe or repeated violations may result in immediate termination without refund of any unused store credit.
5. User-submitted content
You retain ownership of content you submit (chat messages, applications, support tickets, etc.). By submitting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and use that content for the purpose of operating the Service and improving it.
You represent that you have the rights to submit such content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
6. Beta and early access — no warranty of progression
The Service is in active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time. Game characters, currency, items, and other in-game progression may be wiped during beta or pre-release periods. Where a wipe is planned we will give reasonable notice on the website and/or Discord, but you should not treat any in-game progress as permanent before the official launch.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by Polish law, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
7. Purchases, virtual goods, and refunds
Some parts of the Service may offer paid items (game access, packages, cosmetic perks). Listed prices include applicable VAT unless stated otherwise.
EU 14-day right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you generally have 14 days from the date of purchase to withdraw without giving a reason (Directive 2011/83/EU). However, where a digital purchase is delivered immediately and you have expressly consented to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, that right does not apply (Article 16(m) of the Directive). When you complete a digital purchase you confirm exactly that.
Pricing transparency. Where a price reduction is announced, the strikethrough price displayed is the lowest price applied during the 30 days before the reduction (Article 6a of Directive 98/6/EC, as amended by Directive (EU) 2019/2161 — the "Omnibus Directive").
Refund policy outside the withdrawal window. Outside the 14-day right of withdrawal we do not offer cash refunds for completed digital purchases unless required by law. Where a payment was clearly made in error or where we are unable to deliver the item, contact us through the website contact form and we will work with you in good faith.
No real-money sale of in-game progression. Virtual currency, items, and account access are licences to use the Service — they have no monetary value outside the Service and may not be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash on third-party platforms.
8. Account termination
You may delete your account at any time from the account settings page or by using the website contact form. Deletion is permanent and clears characters, virtual currency, and access entitlements. Some records (transaction history, audit logs we are legally required to keep) are retained per the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms, for prolonged inactivity, or where we are legally required to do so.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or 50 EUR — whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (such as for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death and personal injury).
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the Service or applicable law changes. Material changes will be announced on the website with a reasonable notice period before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Polish law, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence remain unaffected.
If you are a consumer resident in the EU and we cannot resolve a dispute through direct contact, you may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
